History

It was 1982 when that the first Beltane on the Beach was held.

For many years the caretakers of the event were the venerable Fred and Leigh Griffith. When they eventually moved north and could no longer manage the event, they handed the responsibility to Immanent Grove, who took care of it for several years before that Grove dissolved, and the responsibility fell to John and Ginger Scott, who have managed the event – maintaining this website, coordinating the schedule of events for the day, and ensuring the May Poles make it to the beach each year – since 2012.
